Laws

Homework -

This law hereby states the following:
  • There shall be no more than one hour of homework per night. This is based on the average person.
  • On Monday, there will be a discussion on the homework for the week. A homework sheet will be given. If the class agrees that the homework assigned will take more than an hour, the homework will be tailored to fit.
  • Homework will be open scheduled when possible. This means that you will get your assignments for the week and you can choose when you would like to complete them. One assignment is due at the beginning of each class. You will recieve one no homework night option, but you will have to do two assignments another night to catch up.
  • Every other weekend, we will have no homework. On the weekends that we do have homework, we will have no more than one hour of homework.
  • When projects are assigned, we will discuss them in depth on Monday so everyone understands what they are about.

Missing Class -
This law hereby states the following:

- There shall be an outline for the week posted on the wiki.
- Papers/presentations shall be posted online, when ever possible.
- Tests can be taken in advance (before the day is missed) if agreed on by the student and teacher.
- If a student is sick, get the missed work the next day or by email. Two days will be given for every day out to make up the missed work.

Goals achieved equals grade achieved
This law hereby states the following:
  • Students will list goals to be achieved by the end of the semester. Goals will be discussed with teacher and both student and teacher will agree to the list of goals. Goals need to be SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely).
  • Students will "journal" online every week about how they are doing towards obtaining these goals, what tools they need to help them, and what they will do the following week towards obtaining these goals.
  • Student grades will be based on ability to achieve these goals and the process of achieving these goals (including journaling).
